1. Twin Farms – Barnard, VT
While many would think of an all inclusive resort being for just a beach vacation, adults and families love Twin Falls. It is one of the smallest properties in the world to have earned a 5-star rating. While small in stature with just 20 rooms, the resort boasts a 26,000 bottle wine cellar and 300 acres of unspoiled Vermont countryside.
2. Dunton Hot Springs – Dolores, CO
This once historic ghost town was revived into the number one all inclusive resort in the United States. It can only hold 44 guests at a time, but they will live in the lap of luxury in the 13 historic log cabins and cottages, each hand built by the original miners who occupied the town. They have been lovingly restored and historical artifacts placed throughout.
3. Explora Lodges – Throughout Patagonia
While all of the Explora lodges are environmentally friendly, they do not lack in charm and elegance. They offer an amazing arrive of guided adventures that are included in the price. These include bird watching, photography, and horseback trips.
4. Aman and Cosmo Resorts – Bhutan
Since Bhutan discourages travels from wandering around the country without a complete prepaid itinerary, Aman and Cosmo resorts have teamed up to offer an all inclusive experience that is rivaled by few. Guests can take advantage of the restaurants and excursions from both resorts. Included in the price is transportation to and from the national airport.
5. Portillo – Chile
Portillo is the most famous ski resort in South America and attracts many world class competitive skiers. What makes this an odd place for an all inclusive resort is the fact that there is no town. However, guests have all they need including a full-sized ski resort, meals, board, skiing and other sports, and entertainment.
6. Ranch at Rock Creek – Philipsburg, MT
Set on 10 square miles of rugged Montana landscape, the Ranch at Rock Creek, the resort offers many guided sports and tours included in the price of the all inclusive. These include horseback riding, world class fly fishing, hiking, mountain biking, sporting clays, shooting range, archery, and wildlife viewing.
7. Xaranna Okavango Delta Camp – Botswana
While many may think that this is an odd place to find an all inclusive resort, this is actually one of the best safari destinations on the planet. There are lagoons and rivers that are full of wildlife. There are just nine deluxe tents set on 62,000 acres. But, don’t let the word tent fool you. These are luxury tents complete with in suite bathroom, oversized indoor tub, outdoor shower, and a private plunge pool.
8. Clayoquot Wilderness Resort – Vancouver Island, British Columbia
Only accessible by a 45 minute seaplane ride, Clayoquot has 20 deluxe canvas tents with plenty of family friendly excursions included in the price. But don’t think you are really roughing it. There are two lounge tents that have billiards, bars, and an internet café. But you can’t come and not get outside. Included in the price are a variety of activities like horseback riding, river and ocean kayaking, whale watching, grizzly bear watching, hiking, mountain biking, and world-class river, ocean, and lake fishing.
9. Grand Velas, Riviera Maya and Nuevo Vallarta – Mexico
While Mexico is known for numerous all inclusive resorts, only two have received the prestigious AAA 5-diamond rating. These resorts offer fine dining and accommodations that will make you never want to leave. All rooms are considered suites and offer a spacious 1,000 square feet. There are spa-like bathrooms, WiFi and large flat-screen TVs, plus private hot tubs in most units.
10. Jade Mountain – St. Lucia
This unique and one of a kind resort is home to some of the most beautiful hotel rooms in all of the Caribbean. There are 20 private infinity pool sanctuaries that provide both ocean and beautiful mountain views. In addition, all sanctuaries have private butlers dedicated to the guests of that room.
